Privacy Policy

The short version
RuleThemAll is a local-first macOS app. It organizes files on your Mac using folders you select. It does not require an account, does not upload your files, and does not need a network connection to do its job.
What the Mac app stores
The app stores the following on your Mac, using Apple platforms such as SwiftData and security-scoped bookmarks:
- Rules you create, including conditions, actions, and destination folders
- References to folders you granted access to
- An activity timeline of actions the app performed, so you can inspect and undo them
- Preferences such as launch at login, notifications, and file-stabilization delay
- App Store purchase entitlements for RuleThemAll Pro, managed by Apple
File contents are not sent to us. The app reads file names, extensions, types, and sizes in folders you approved so it can match rules.
Permissions
macOS will ask you to grant access to each folder the app watches or writes to. Access is persisted with security-scoped bookmarks so the app can keep working after relaunch. You can revoke access through the app or by deleting the app’s data.
Purchases
Optional Pro upgrades (monthly, annual, or lifetime) are processed by Apple through the Mac App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple’s privacy policy applies to those transactions.
Analytics and accounts
The Mac app does not require an account. V1 does not include a third-party analytics SDK. If optional, privacy-preserving diagnostics are added later, this policy will be updated before they ship.
This website
The marketing site at rulethemall.app is a Rails application. It may set a session cookie needed to operate the site. It does not use advertising cookies. Server logs may include standard request data such as IP address, user agent, and the page requested, retained only as long as needed to operate and secure the site.
Children
RuleThemAll is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13.
